In Pursuit of The Pale Prince
Mark Wallace Maguire
Okay, there are books, and there are good books. It doesn’t take a lot to figure that ‘In Pursuit of the Pale Prince‘ falls into the latter category.
Told in the protagonist own voice, this is the tale of a 12 years old Arestus, who recently lost his father.
His ailing mother who is lying on her deathbed warns Arestus of his uncle Axton, who recently arrives unannounced. However sweet the uncle seems, he’s not the great man he professes to be and Arestus realizes soon when his mother reveals his uncle’s true motives behind his visit. Arestus has to leave everything and run to the Haunted Islands and locate a cherished relic by his father.
Reluctantly at first, Arestus embarks on a journey to find the relic and save the Northern Kingdom.
Could a relic truly offer hope to the people and unite them?
What do I think about this book?
This was such a wonderful and perfect read!!! Compelling and engrossing. I was captivated from the very first chapter and with every page, it grew even more on me.
Authors mark’s narratives flawlessly transport its readers into the story making them a part of the Arestus journey.
Furthermore, this is a very happy fast-paced read, which is going to enchant you and grip you in its clutches.
What I least liked about this book are its chapters they were very short some were hardly 1 page long. The story also left so many questions things I wanted to know about.
Overall the book ‘In the Pursuit of the Pale Prince‘ is something I can recommend as a must-read if only once read. Especially young readers will enjoy this book more.
For me, it’s a 4 out of 5 stars read.
