Have we ever stopped and asked ourselves that whatever we do, has a collective impact on India. Or that giving tax to our Government or raising a ruckus over the thing that our Government did is not our only duty towards India.
No, we need to do more!
I really like Tarun Deep’s writing style, crisp and to the point. This is my second book from the Author. When he asked me to review his second book, I grabbed the opportunity with both hands as his first book ‘The Journey – The traveler within’ was indeed a good book.

Opening Sentence: After reading this work, readers may conclude that more stress has been given on highlighting the shortcomings of Indian Citizens as a nation as the work may seem like a compilation of only issues and challenges.
In this work, Author is passionate about being an Indian. He feels that a ‘True Indian’ is not a person but set of traits and anyone who exhibits them is an Indian. But before anyone can possess those qualities the need is to overcome challenges at social, financial, national and global level.
The book is a collection of personal thoughts and author believes if every citizen of this country comes forward to deal with the issues then an Indian will be the last human to live on this planet.
The book ‘What is an Indian depicts the current situation of India from all walks of life. I thought this book was extremely enthralling. The author did a magnificent job of compiling his thoughts, current issues, and past topics pertaining to India into a short book.
The author talks about everything that concerns the people of India and its economy and cultural aspect of India in his book. He has also raised many questions in his book and answered a few or rather gave few tips as to how to curb the situation we are getting into, which scared the patriotic in me and also gave me some hope.
There was so much to understand and so much to learn. The author had many concerns regarding the direction India is taking for some time, as our culture has degenerated and our leaders have become increasingly corrupt.
The title ‘What is an Indian?’ is very aptly named and in itself is a retrospective question. Do we ever stop and question ourselves, about Who are we? Are we Indian enough? Or we are the people who love to live in the moment, regardless of its impact on India.
On so many topics, I agreed with the Author. We need to make our foundation as an Indian strong and for that education on every level is a must. We need to educate our women and also teach the male of our society that women are to be respected. We also need to carve out our own distinct personality rather than following the International Band Wagon of modern culture. And above all, we need to be an Indian, not just in words but in a true sense.
