The Panchatheertha Part 1, has 27 moral stories pieced together to form a book full of mind-blowing imagination and absurd hilarity. The book revolves around various animals, with humane vices and emotions.
Author Rajiv has an amazing sense of humor, which can be clearly seen from his writing style. I think I’ll have to read more of him to figure out how he executes his narratives so well.
With impeccable narrative style, the book’s effectiveness lies in the way it’s told, sharpened for maximum impact on one’s senses.
I would say don’t rush into reading this book, because it has to be read slowly, laughed heartily kind of book. Though at some places the story or rather stories confused me a bit, but as they say ‘There is no book as perfect as a reader’s eyes deem it to be’ and it’s a perfect read for me because it made me laugh and took me to the nostalgia lane of my childhood.
Do I recommend this book?
Yes, if you want to go on a journey of your childhood with laughter on your face then this is the book for you… apt for all ages but not kids.
My Rating: 4/5 stars
About the Author
Born: Chennai, India
I was born in Chennai, India in the early nineteen sixties. I am an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a CPA from Australia. I now live in Melbourne after a stint of several years in the Middle East.
The writing was a vague aspiration. It became a reality thanks to a stranger who said I reminded him of the main character from Desiderata by Max Ehrmann. He quoted from it, ‘Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.’
