Hilarious and refreshing read.
I am always delighted to read books from a different genre. It is very rare that a precious gem lands in my hands. And I’m lucky enough to say that Hureen Gandhi’s book is that precious gem.

In modern day America, amidst the contentious presidential election campaign of November 2016, immigrant author Hureen Saghar Gandhi finds that humor is the only way to keep her family and her friends’ spirits high. Living a fast and furious life in Northern Virginia, surrounded by quirky characters, she decides she has no choice but to weave them into her satirical anecdotes in her book: Page 6 And Beyond. This book will have you laughing out loud as she embarks on a spy mission to bond with long-lost childhood school friends on a sensational WhatsApp column; fulfill her bucket lists; chronicle encounters with her kids, and challenges; relate her childhood escapades; relive her misadventures in the Nordic region; and supply readers with extraordinary stories of her friends living in different continents.
When the Author Hureen approached me for her book ‘Page 6 And Beyond: Let’s stir the pot‘, I had never thought this to be a hilarious ride to the nostalgia lane kind of book.
The book ‘Page 6 And Beyond: Let’s stir the pot’ begins with a disclaimer Rating the book ‘PG 40’ (Don’t take the disclaimer seriously), and the way the characters were introduced, were show the setter. And the beginning of the book set the pace of the whole book.
Hureen’s first book is a hilarious sort-of memoir. It’s extremely funny with several laughs out loud lines and stories. Hureen’s book turned out to be light-hearted, big-hearted and funny. While it took me only 6 hours to finish, I’m happy and highly embarrassed to admit that it had me laughing out throughout.
So what’s to love about ‘Page 6 And Beyond: Let’s stir the pot…’, besides everything? For starters, how Hureen just narrates the story (and by the story, I mean everything from Creating a WhatsApp group to bring her widespread friends from around the world closer, to her trip to Burhanpur, India’s Venice) like it is. She’s got a strong funny bone in her, and you can feel it in your laughter. The book is a perfect blend of bubbly, snarky, honest, and sheer fun. And I really loved how the Author described each and every character, it had me in stitches.
The narration was exceptionally good. The story revolves around past and present in Hureen’s life, transitioning smoothly. This book is funny, of course. But it’s also candid and, at times, heartfelt. What I loved most about this book is Hureen’s voice can be heard through the whole thing. That’s not an easy thing for an author to do, but you feel as though Hureen is sitting right beside and narrating these stories to you personally
So yeah, it’s brilliant. It’s hilarious. JUST GO READ IT ALREADY! haha
I give it 5/5
