And Then The Light Turned Green by Mehar Luthra

“She had always, always found a deep sense of comfort in numbers. Numbers were beautiful in their symmetry-hauntingly lovely in their repetition and unwavering patterns, elegant in their theorems and always, always dependable. You didn’t find a lot of people you could depend on in life.”

Opening Lines: SCREECHING TO a stop bare meters behind a massive Jeep that threatened the very life of her compact Polo, Aaina cursed ripely and with distinct pleasure.

Mehar Luthra’s And Then the light Turned Green’ kind of took me by surprise. Although Just 30 pages long, the book left a huge impact on me.

The book ‘And then the light turned Green’ is a collection of 5 short stories, each has very different shade from the other. I thoroughly enjoyed reading some of the stories. My favorites among these are

  1. Sanjana
  2. Jeet
  3. Madhurima

What I didn’t like about the book was that one of the stories could have done with a proper ending. It kind of left me unsettled.

Very fast paced the book takes on a roller coaster ride. Smooth narration and English makes the book more fun to read.

Do I recommend it?

A good travel companion. Short read, with different emotions to keep you on the edge.

My Rating: 4/5 stars
